Thanks for the note, Kevin. I suspected there might be late 1/2 tons with round gauges but I've never seen one, so they might be on the rare side.
Fairly sure all the real military machines had the
toggle-lock screens, though i can't remember what my VC 3 has, really have to pick it up sometime.

The tie-down hooks are poorly detailed in the Master Parts List, but it is clear that early 1/2 tons all had closed loops and late 3/4s all had open ones. If you have roped a top on one of these things you will know that it is much faster with the open hooks. Wouldn't be surprised if this was a poloicy decision some time during the production, as I've seen Ben Hur trailers with the same early / late open / closed hook thing.

Anyone else have any early / late info. ?
