My military cab does not have a fuel filler hole. Considering the different cowl lip, it is doubtful, but not conclusive, that any military cabs had the fuel filler hole.

There are other minor differences as well. Civilian cabs have small holes just forward of the upper door hinge for turn signals. Military cabs do not.

However, this doesn't mean that a combination of the above might have slipped through due to civilian and military 1/2 tonners being made on the same assembly line during 1941. It's possible that if one department got behind in making certain cab stampings, that the assembly department might have grabbed whatever was available. Or that someone postwar swapped a military cab onto a civilian truck and altered it. Or in my friends case, he redid the cowl lip and has a patched fuel tank hole and the turn signal holes.

Whew!
