The wheelbase is 2" longer for the 1/2 ton. The 3/4 ton frame has more of a center drop and the 3/4 ton axle/diffs are stronger. I'd only consider the swap if you already have 2 Carryalls, the 3/4 with a good body and bad chassis, the 1/2 reverse. But if you have a 3/4 with mechanical problems, it would be easier and wiser to just fix them and keep the stronger chassis with the lower center-of-gravity, unless it has bad frame rust (which I doubt is the problem). If you want the 4.89 gears of the 1/2 ton, you can install 4.89s in the 3/4 ton diffs.
