I would assume you are using a brush because you don't have a compressor and/or spray gun.
In liu of a compresor, you can use an air bottle. One tank of highly compressed air or nitrogen will usually paint most pickups. Some tris to a flea market will often turn up a decent spray gun.
(Ventilation is a must when painting, especially with nitrogen.)
