I painted my 52 B1 with brush some years ago; Rustolium black and forest green. It looked pretty good when it was fresh. I painted it in the sun so the oil paint really flatened out nicely. However you could and still can tell it was painted with a brush which gives a nice farm, hands on look to the truck on one hand, but if I was doing a full on restoration I think I would spray it. The idea of sanding and buffing out the brush marks is probably good but sounds very labor intensive. Bottom line however is that if money is really tight brushed on paint is always better than no paint to preserve the truck.
