Just go to a rental yard and rent a bfd and buy a new bit and oil can and giterdun, bet ya got something wrong, is ya motor a 360 or 361??? What bellhousing, clutch, tob set up are u using, got any pictures, what did the 540 come out of by the way, international, dodge etc???I do not remember different lengths for input shafts but different od and spline, course ya could just cut the end off and hand grind it back to specs. Why not get a 361 and use it instead of the small block?? what flywheel are you using with the 360??? Good luck and post some pictures, there is a place here on the site that will machine the input shaft down and has a respliner if u really need it done, think u got something wrong with the parts u are trying to use to convert, do you have the 540 with the bellhousing it was last used with???? Might be able to use it and redrill it too???
