I am getting a spitfire with NP420 on a parts truck this week. I searched all of the old Forum threads for info. 251's were in 42-54 cars, and 46-68 trucks. 265's were in 52-54 cars, and 53-61 trucks. Both 25" long block, but truck application would have premium components. 265 truck engine had a dual carb, dual exhaust option. Only difference between 251 and 265 is 1/4" of stroke. Measure stroke at plugged hole over number 6 cylinder. 265 is 4 3/4". Head has "Spitfire" and two lightning bolts cast into it, but is no different from any other head, just looks really cool.
