Samj my state offers this type tag cheap but, they have changed the rules twice from the original wording since 1985 with the latest one being the most restrictive as in ,you can only drive it to be repaired,or a parade or other vintage vehicle event. The
previous one had allowed any vehicle over 20yrs old to be driven unlimited but someone just couldn't stand the thought that all the poor and collector/hobbist only had to buy a lifetime tag for $10 and the state wasn't getting all the money it could from tag sales. The thing that really chapped me about the whole deal was that the original wording and each revision to the antique/vintage tag law all start out the same saying that the tag is "permanent and valid without renewal" If its deemed permanent and valid without renewal, wouldn't that mean that any change should only affect vehicles and tags purchased after
the revision? Thats like selling you a lifetime hunting license and then saying ,Oh we decided to change the law and now your lifetime hunting permit is no longer lifetime. It should be grounds for a lawsuit!
