1. Avoid backing up.
2. Make sure that your binder chains lead out in a way that none of them become looser if the load moves.
3. I always found the worse part of using a 1/2 ton truck with a heavy trailer is tongue weight. If you don't put enough weight on the tongue the trailer will sway, which is very bad. With a 1/2 ton truck sometimes you can't get enough weight on the tongue without over stressing something.
4. I disagree with most people about the weight of the tow truck. I think weight is bad. Most other people think that heavier trucks, like crewcabs, are better
