I once worked for an old mechanic and when he thought one was getting carboned up,he would take a pop bottle full of water and pour it thru at a fast idle. This also works on a fouled plug. When the father of a good friend needed to de-carbon their 413 irrigation engines he would pour a cup of rice thru the Ensign NG carburator while it was pumping and it seemed to keep them running good.
