The first thing I would check is all the basics. Do you have any vacume leaks? Is the air gap setting for the distributor correct? Are the plug and plug wires in good shape? Is the the wiring for all the ignition components in good shape?
If I had to guess I would say that you have a vacume leak. But check all the simple stuff first.
