of how this works? I'm thinking of the four strokes in a 4-stroke engine and can't figure out how vacuum is affected by ignition timing. The vacuum is created with the intake stroke and intake valve open, then both valves are closed during the compression and power strokes and ignition takes place with both valves closed--one stroke (compression stroke)after the intake valve is open. I don't see how the two are related. Am I just being dumb?
