Many things beyond just diameter...oooo, I just remembered a conversation with an elevator engineer. He mentioned the ratio of sheave dia to wire rope diameter, and how the Kevlar? Aramid? ropes will work on smaller pulleys. I wonder what the specs are for synthetics, if they are good for our useage? Back to Google, my cable looks pretty bad too...
