I have a Pinz now. Sorry you had a bad Mog experience Steve. I think you must have gotten a bad one. I took Dana and Judd for a ride in my bone stock Mog and they thought it was pretty quick I think. I have not ridden in a stock Powerwagon or M37 that will keep pace with a stock Mog if both are running right.
Mog Pros
1. Ground clearance
2. Low, low gears.
3. High gears. Compared to a PW!
4. Heater.
5. Convertible
6. Easy to work on except for trans.
7. Parts are cheap. I don't care what anybody says about this. Unless you have had one don't even say anything. Parts are cheaper for Mogs than for PW's for damn near everything if you look in the right places.
8. Flex like crazy, carry as much weight as you want, ride nicer than ANY leaf sprung truck.
9. Lockers front and rear, no getting out for nothing unless you want to.
10. Gas mileage is better than you would think.
11. Fully synchronized tranny.

Cons-
1. Big.
2. I am not going to call the Mogs slow. If you drive it right, it will smoke a PW on the street. With 12.5's x 20's 60 mph is not a problem on the highway except for you.
3. HARD TO GET IN AND OUT OF!!!-This is the worst thing.
4. Pain in the ass to work on anything transmission related.
5. Everything is very heavy. Not like a deuce, but big and heavy nonetheless.
6. Seats suck. But, they suck in PW's too.

I need to say something here. I think PW's and M37's are super cool. The PW is the best looking truck ever in my opinion. That being said, the Mog is not even in the same league as a PW in terms of off road capability stock for stock. I am sure there are many PWs that are built up that are impressive. But stock trucks against stock trucks there is no comparison. Some mog trannies DO overheat on extended highway trips. Not all do though. Many NP200s do too in the old Dodges.
Pinzs?
Well, they are not nearly as capable as a MOG.
The pinz is basically better at almost everything that matters most of the time though.
Turning radius? Better than a little Jeep.
Lockers? Selectable, front and rear.
Portal axles.
Power brakes.
Real windows.
Convertible, easy to live with canvas
Doors come off easy.
All gears are synchronized
Will go 70mph if you want.
IS faster than my Landcruiser around town.

Cons-
Can't get gas without some dipshit telling you he used to drive those in the service...Evidently when they were serving in the SWISS army.
Loud. Fan is very loud as they are aircooled.
Heater is basically a waste of time. Gas fired heater is basically a requirement around here in the winter.

The pinz is tough to beat for a fun daily driver. The Mog is kind of a little much for a DD. I did it for over a year though and loved eveey minute of it. The M37 is great but unless you are a real bad ass or don't know any better it is difficult to live with daily.
I think you will also find that the build quality of the Mog and the Pinz will be amazing compared to what you are used to with Jeeps and stuff. Like screws put in 30 year ago will actually come out with a phillips head if you want to without a hammer and an impact driver...Good luck and regards. bryan
