That hole is supposed to be in your plug. When the fluid leaves your Master Cylinder the hole keeps from creating a vacuum.
It sounds to me like the guys bellow were right...your brake shoes are not adjusted properly. When they are, very little fluid needs to move from your Master Cylinder to apply the brakes.
The way you have them set right now, it takes one whole stroke of your MC to move the shoes far enough to touch the drums. So much fluid is removed from your MC you can hear the air moving through the air vent hole in the cap.
You can't adjust your brakes properly unless you are using a feeler gauge with the truck on blocks & the wheels removed.
Try it...you'll see.
