Does it pump all the time? Does it have a mechanism to disengage it, so it is not dragging down the engine all the time? I suppose if you are using it for air brakes you'd prefer to have a constant supply of air.

That's what's nice about using an AC compressor, is it comes with an electric clutch.

I was thinking a PTO driven pump would be nice, because you could disengage it easily. It would be nice to have the pump under the hood instead of under the body, where it might get dirty or drug on a rock or something.
