Reminds me of all the "winter" 4x4s and cars I saw in Anchorage when I lived there. Same issue, rust. But they also did it as there were a lot of accidents in the winter. You are driving on snow covered roads for 5 to 6 months a year. (Main roads are cleared but a lot of the side and neiborhood roads are not). The first snow of the year up there is a demolition derby until people get into the winter driving mode again.
