As the summer is winding on, I am getting to think about that dreaded season called winter. I am loving that '91 W-250 Cummins truck, BUT, I do not want to run it in the winter. Reasons being, is having to keep it plugged in to start, (when I am at work, I have no place to plug it in), Snow plowing, as the truck is very nose-heavy as it is with the Cummins, Diesel Fuel jelling, and also, I dont want to expose the truck to the salt spray and rust it totally out. What would be ideal is the Gas powered twin to my truck (late 80's-early 90's Fuel injected Dodge W-250 or W-350 SRW with a EFI smallblock, manual trans, 205 case, Dana 60 front, but will consider other options) I need something that is reasonably sturdy that will handle several Michigan winters before it falls apart. The main thing is, I need a 3/4 or 1 ton SRW 4X4. Prefer Manual trans, and 205 T-case, but will consider others. If it already has a plow (preferably Western) that would be nice, but no sweat as I can get Plow brackets for this Style Dodge reasonable. I am looking basically for a turnkey driver. Will consder trucks that need tune-ups, shocks, tires, minor brake work, little stuff like that, but nothing major. Something I could drive home. Need something in Michigan, Ohio or Indiana. Anybody have a truck that will fit my needs for a reasonable price close to home? Thanks!
