Fair Price?

I asked the local mechanic what it would cost (labor) to replace an exhaust manifold gasket as well as both the front and rear pinion seals. His price estimate was $500.00 to $1,000.00.

Does this seem high or about right to you all?

I know, I know. Do it myself and it wont cost anything right?
