Duane Carpenter of Evanston, WY found a spare 'after' type of 4-speed, non-synchromesh transmission in his spare parts stash. Since he has sold off his PW's, he doesn't need it anymore, so I am putting it up for sale for him. It's the 'after' type typically found in the '51 to '55 Power Wagons, and it has PTO ports on both sides. The 'after' type has a drain port that is at a right angle with the sides of the gear box, while the 'up to' type for the '46 to '50 Power Wagons has the drain port at a slant on the bottom of the gear box.

I took the top off it yesterday, and it looks very nice inside. The shift tower is tight and works great. Everything spins smoothly and doesn't appear to have any problems. One of the gears inside does have a patch of surface rust, but I couldn't see any pitting. The output yoke is on it too.

I think $150.00 would be a fair price for it, but shipping could cost you a bunch from here. Contact me at my e-mail address above, and I can put you in touch with Duane.

I've known Duane for several years and he's about the nicest guy you'll ever have the pleasure knowing. He's a huge Ford fan and has beautifully restored a '56 Ford F-100, a '57 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser, a '59 Edsel and a '37 Fordson tractor. His Turnpike Cruiser took top honors at Las Vegas a few years ago.
