I have never seen a Townie with the elusive short second row seat. I think that most people (like me) would have put the short seat to the side and moved the third row seat up to the second row slot to utilize the extra room on the back deck. Probably after years of being "stored", these second row seats were tossed or rusted away making them hard to find.
The other problem with this is that the mounting slots in the second row position do not have the extra two holes needed for a firm bolt down of the longer seat.
