Personally I'd go with stainless(big surprise, right Gordon!) Do it once and don't ever have to worry about rust or painting. Fine Lines , Classic Tube and others have it readily available and it is not that much more. I get mine at a swap meet to save the oversize shipping charge and yes, I bent and flare my own and have never had a problem doing it. Hope this helps, Kevin
