Could this be the infamous "Canadian" engine mark??? I was told by some older Chrysler/Dodge owners, that this was how they told the difference between a Canadian built, and a US built engine. The Canadian engine factory stamped the numbers on the TOP of the block, while the US plants stamped them in the SIDE of the block. Just another little thing we might have done to be "CANADIAN". Since the Canadian plant built only "long" engines, finding numbers on the top of a shot engine would disprove this theory. J.V.L.
