The Jeep in the picture is the military version of the CJ3B, which is known as the M606.

M606 Jeeps are rare in the U.S., with some people contending that they are so rare that there are none left stateside; most were sent/sold to foreign militaries. Going to a Willys site and stating that you have an authentic M606 in the U.S. would start quite a string of questions and responses.

There are some replicas of M606s in the U.S., which are built using an M38 tub with the right-side tool indents and the CJ3B firewall, 4-inch cowl extension, front sheetmetal, etc -- the same way Willys and licensees built the M606.

The M38 is the military version of the CJ3A.

The CJ5 is the civilian version of the M38A1. The M38A1 predated the civvie CJ5; the civilian CJ3A and CJ3B came before their military versions.
