Everyone except Eric can go sit in the corner. Here are the Close but No Cigar Awards; M606 is close, (and maybe correct?) but they were only built by Kaiser, the CJ3B in the photo is a Willys. The M38 has a low hood, as does the CJ3A. The M38A1 is indeed the same as a CJ-5.
Built from 1953 to 1964, the CJ3B, replaced the CJ3, CJ3A, and the CJ2-M38. The M38 continued until the M38A1. The M606 was a fill-in by Kaiser, based upon the CJ3B, until the M38A1 was in production. Since the grill says Willys, I'd guess that the only thing military about it is the paint job and B.O. marker lights,...or it is a very rare early M606...ha!ha! How about that for confusion?
