The service you get from MARS is worth what it costs, and your truck will be in great shape.

If you do it yourself, you will have invested in yourslef in that you gained the experience. Even if you flubb it up, you will learn a lot. Maybe you'd rather spend your experiences doigng something other than immersing your hads in gear oil for hours and hours?

You might try doing the front one first. Assuming, you run lock-out hubs, the front differential won't turn very often, and never very fast. Even if you don't get it adjusted just perfectly, it will probably last for years and years.

The thing I don't like about setting up gears is never knowing for sure it is done correctly. I always have difficulty gaging to the percision required to know for sure. It almost seems like an art only acquired with experience. Should I start gaining that experience today, or am I going to depend on someone else to do it for the next 50 years, because I will probably do this more than once.
