Oil Filtration

I am in the process of installing an exhaust header on my 251 and while I have the access clear I would like to drill my block for full flow oil filtration. Can anyone tell me the size of the fittings and hose used. It looks like a 3/8 NPT might be too big a hole but I am not sure if a 1/4 NPT would provide enough oil. This is the pad area on the block just above the oil pump. Any help?

If anyone is interested in exhaust headers they are available for the 251 from Langdon's Stovebolt for $300. My headers I built myself and they cost almost that in materials. Langdon's also has a set of Fenton headers and intake for the 230 for sale. www.stoveboltengineco.com.
