This is not a good time to need PW tires; few of the tires discussed are available today.

None of the Michelins are available new currently. They are pretty rare used right now (I just pawed through FT Bliss's system and nada). Perhaps Michelin will make another run. Or somebody will find a stash.

The Grip Spurs are no longer in production. (I have 1 brand new GS; Fedex Salt Lake sold the other 3 to *somebody* - and, BTW refuses to settle after 4 months of wrangling...).

The Power Kings and the STA's (available from VPW for a ready reference) are the only alternative to the Denman NDAs. They are often available through the indies (Big O here) but you need a fairly canny tire guy to find them, the tubes and flaps. The reviews I hear from owners are good. Plan to drop a grand + on 5 mounted. A reasonable value, and the path I plan to follow.

Some claim to use Gumbo Mudders. I have not heard any real results from an owner. I get no good vibes from the Old Tire Guy that they are a viable alternative (but he does not say *no* either).

Hope this helps.
