I have read alot of info about the poly here,i have to say my opinion has been modified a bit.I have my own opinions, based on my experiance.I worked in a big auto repair facility from about 1970 till i joined the millitary in 79.Worked on lots of cars/trucks,i will say with a very biased opinion that i have seen only two engines during that time that routinly had upwards of 100k most averaged 300 to 400k.

We serviced a large portion of commercial vehicles, this is important consideration in my opinion here. The two engines that concistently had this durablity was the 318LA and believe it or not the 383RB. To this day i still see 318LA that are still going strong. My 68 D300 was a Pepsi delivery truck .It was just to slow any more, to deliver , it had 800k on that 318La eng ran OK,I ended up overhauling because during the cleannup i found the block to be cracked because they left it out without antifreeze. That forged crank only needed polishing and a new block.

I just can't remember ever seeing any of the polys with this kind of durablilty.I don't really need this kind of durability,i doubt that i will put that many miles on a powerwagon, but i'm getting to the point that i only want to fix things one time.I do read the poly posts with great interest, but i don't think you can go to napa store for parts.

I'm still enterested, maybe, whats your opinion,i'm still hoping someone gives an opinion on the rim's.Thanks Lucian
