Ran into an interesting truck at an old museum. They had a donated 4 x 4 Dodge, that was supposedly a 1944 command car. Looked like a lot of mixed things to me. Had a closed cab on it, ID plate said VD-21 model, but it had military hood and flat fenders. side of hood was a square plate that said DODGE on it, that's all. Had no bed but frame behind cab looke like a 14" section had been welded in. Truck had duals on rear axle, springs looked like 1 ton or less. Serial number on frame was 8567754. Perhaps once had a winch on front, but bumper gone and frame ends butchered up. Had brushguard over radiator and (missing) headlights. Engine was a Chrysler C-36 Spitfire dropped in and chunk taken out of firewall. Any ideas what this monster started out from ?
