Where have you seen a short box stepside W200?

A W200 is a 3/4 ton, and from all the looking I have done it looks like only the W100s came as short box trucks. I would be very interested in learning more about a 1957 shortbox W200! If there is one it would most likely have been built by SEG like the 1960 W200 Town Wagon I saw.

The 315 was used in all of 1957 and 1958, in 1959 Dodge went to the poly 318. The 230 FH6 was used in all 57-60 W100-W200s as the 6 cyl option.

It is possible that Dodge put Hemis in the W100-W200 PWs in 57 or 58, but it was not a listed factory option, it would have been a special job by SEG.

The big back window was a seperate option from the custom cab, I have seen several original trucks with the low end interior, and the big back window. I have also seen small back window trucks with the custom cab interior, it could be had either way.

Remember that the W100 and W200 1957 PWs were only different in the rear axle, and the rear springs, the W100 had a semi floating rear end, lighter rear springs, and 6 lug wheels, a W200 had a full floating rear end, heavier rear springs, and 6 lug wheels.

They are hard to tell apart, and plenty of people have thought 1/2 tons were 1 tons as they thought 6 lug wheels were to big for a 1/2 ton.

Sometimes the VIN number is the only way to tell what you have, as the rear ends are often swapped, as are other parts.
