I actually had the wiring catch on fire that lead to a radio I installed. How embarrassing. My father, who was riding with me at the time, calmly informed me "The truck is on fire", and put it out.

And, on another occasion the emergency brake had something spill on it. I was unaware that whatever it was was in there, and the lining swelled up when I went through a stream. It caught on fire. Again, my father was riding with me and he put it out with a can of Dr. Pepper.
