[alt. bat. terminal wire] - Big wire (10 gauge) from the alt goes to the mius terminal of the ammeter. Big wire (10 gauge) goes from the plus terminal on the solenoid to the plus terminal of the ammeter

[alt "F" terminal wire] - connects to the "F" terminal on the voltage regulator

[alt "R" terminal wire] - connects to the "terminal numbered as 2" of the voltage regulator

[Voltage regulator terminal numbered 3&4] - Connect these two together and run a wire to the "Ign." terminal of the ignition switch

[ballest resistor] - from the "ign." terminal of the ignition switch run a wire to the ballest resister and from the ballest resistor, run a wire to the coil's plus terminal.

[Solenoid] - from the solenoids "R" terminal run a wire to the ballest resistor's terminal that has the wire going to the coil. This is to by-pass the resistor during starting

What ever starting switch your using, from the "start" terminal run a wire to the solenoid's small "S" terminal

This is the basic setup for a three wire Delco (GM) alternator/voltage regulator
