Cab heater

I have a B&B Deluxe heater I removed from my cab (47 FF). I cleaned it up and repainted it.
But it was not wired. Was this a factory heater or a dealer option? How was it wired, with switch in the dash or with a add-on panel type control? It was plumbed with a gate valve under the hood to turn off in the summer I guessing. Thanks in advance.
