RICK, i would carry it back to the machine shop, and make them reinstall them right, i built a 318 in my truck, and had the same problem with the machine shop i used. i carried it back, and they redid them, and they where still about a 1/16 on a inch off on 2 of them, and the shop said it was ok.so i made them sign my paper work for CYA. but all the books i've read, all say they should be aligned to prevent bearing damage. good luck
