Tim's gmc problems got me thinking

I broke of a easy out on one of the bolts that hold the intake to the exhaust manifold on my 56'. I was thinking of cutting the head of a bolt and welding it on to the intake. Does anyone see any problems with doing this? P.S. my 99'GMC Suburban has a slight exhaust ticking sound, I better go check it out.
