I am working on a webpage detailing WDX-WM300 engine numbers, and my data is limited in the 1958-68 trucks.
Both the 251s and the 230s have the engine number in the same basic location, on the drivers side of the block, about 3" back from the front of the engine, just below the head. The picture above is of a 230ci engine number, but while the pad is a little different shape on the 251s, the number is in the same basic place.
I was hoping to get this info at the rally, but there were almost no trucks of from 58-68 there. 3 1962s, 1 1967, 1 1960 and that was it.
