In the "OLD Days" it was common practice to
machine (mill) the head every time a valve job or rebuild was done or if a head gasket
had to be replaced. So 50+ years later who knows what the compression ratio increase (from material removed from the cylinder head) might be ??
mill it flat, run it and see what you have
might be a problem getting fuel to run the
engine with out pre-ignition if the comp ratio is too high
these old beasts liked the leaded stuff
you can always remove the head and have it milled down a bit more later it that is what
you want - but for what ??
