I realy don't think it will make that much differeance forward or reverse. I haven't had a chance to use them on Snow or Ice yet. Befor winter I will Sipe them at the tire shop (slits cut across the tread)so they get even better traction. I do this to all my tires and it works better on the ice and snow then not doing them. I do not chain up my 4X4s unless the snow is 12 inches or better on the road. Mark H.
