Thanks for all your nice comments! All of you make it worth all the trouble and make us want to do it again..............but be assured it won't be next week.
I hope everyone got home okay. Bob Decker lost a couple of dual rear wheels on Sunday in Muscatine Iowa going home, so hope he got home okay. Joe Cavalini and Clint came up behind him and helped him try and find the wheel but to no avail. ....lost in the cornfield I would suspect.
We had a great time, even though we're moving a little slow this morning....it was really fun for us and one of the most relaxed we've ever had. All of you are great, it's a real treat to have what we feel like is giant family reunion.
On another note:
Also had something really special happen this morning. I received in the mail this AM, a letter from my dad's commanding officer during WWII that my dad has a Bronze Star coming. He passed away 10 years ago last month, but really pleased he will get the award, he was 17 at the time. Evidently the Army had forgotten about the 67 men who died along with the 400 who were wounded. The Company had 300% turnover in 110 days. His commanding officer now has a mission to find everyone who served in the 78th Lightning Division 309 Infantry E-company. If any of you know anyone who might have served with these guys, let me know and I will pass the information along.
