im putting power steering in my 3/4 ton command car with the help of a helitool bracket and a vpw powervert alternator kit. i have the brackets and accessories installed, but am having a hard time getting a belt that fits AND one that will snug up under the adjustment range of the arm supplied with the powervert. it seems that a 55 inch belt is too big and a 54 inch belt is too small. 55.5 belts are not available. The alternator bracket is curved and points down. Im thinking that a straight adjusting arm might be the fix as if i use a 55 inch belt and push the alternator down, the belt tightens (but not enough) then slackens as the alternator pivots through its swing. Hopefully someone here has solved a problem that seems to be an easy fix.

any suggestions? i have emailed ray, but have the day off tomorrow and would like to put this project behind me.

thanks,

mannyc
