Just arrived home from a great time in Iowa. I just wish Vermont would save up enough money to buy Iowa and move it next door. I had planned to laeve sunday morning at about 6 AM. Went to bed at a bit after midnight after some last minute discussions with new found friends. At about 1:15 I awoke to a spectacular lightning and thunder display. Then the wind hit. with my tent folding in half around me I decided slaap was not a happening thing. I got dressed and thats when the rain started. As I was taking the tent down, lightning was hitting uncomfortably close by. I thought for sure they would find a charred lump of me in the morning. So, I began my trip home at 2:00 AM on an hours sleep. I pulled over at 6 am and slept for an hour and again at 4Pm for a half hour. I made it as far as Rochester and stayed with some friends. 925 miles makes for a long day.
I really had a blast at the rally, meeting lots of people I had met on the forums and a bunch of great others. Thanks to Dave and the gang for putting it on.
Overheard a couple of truckers on the cb who saw my Power Wagon. One says " hey look, isnt that an m-37?" The other one says "naw, thats not an M-37, its a Juggernaut! I didnt bother to correct him, as he seemed so sure of himself.
Well its good to be home but was sure fun being there.
Tim
