What size socket to remove hubs on B-1

1948 FFPW B-1-PW

The book says I need some sort of large socket (like 3") to remove the nut on the hubs to get at the bearings. Do I need to buy some sort of Power Wagon socket, or can I just buy a socket at sears? Does anybody know what size?
