All bearing races will bottom out or they will move later. There should be a lip they go up agaist. Then you can shim for proper loding of the bearing. I use the old race to pound in the new ones with then a brass drift or steel punch to seat them. Just be sure not to drive the old one in so far that it seats also. Mark H.
