I use oxy-propane for heating and cutting only.It does this very well and is cheaper and cleaner than acetylene.There is no soot and it is safer to store.I had to buy propane tips seperately as the Victor torches come with acetylene tips standard. I use a MIG welder for welding as the weld quality is better. I have tried welding sheetmetal with the oxy-propane and found it to be unaceptable,so i never tried anything thicker.
