Calm down! Price wasn't the reason! The Power Wagon concept had many, many breakthrough concepts, power tail gates four doors (you can't tell by looking!) traction control. It never would make final design with all those bells and whistles, but it would of had the new generation Cummins, a low sulfur, hybrid that developed 750 HP and 950+ lbs of torque. The tires are one-off hand made Goodyears, there is probably 8 million dollars in that truck. Production models will cost less. I don't think Dodge wants it killed off, no matter what Damiler says. Dodge keeps showing it at shows and reaction is positive. Stripped down models do not sale anymore. Don't blame the automakers for building what buyers want. A stripped down 1946 Power Wagon, would never meet federal safety or emissions standards, so the automakers add bells and whistles to cover the cost of mandated items. You can always "de-order" the options but most consumers add a radio, then a/c, then cd player, tinted glass, etc., etc. pretty soon the truck is loaded up anyway. = ) No vehicle gets the green light unless it can sell 100,000 units a year for several years, that's the facts of life in todays auto industry.
