Correct Gerry Can Location Measurements?

Lets see if I can get the answer before tomorrow forum re-fresh?

First, I'll explain the red painted area. The Truck was a welding truck in a mine, and they had the radio equipment mounted here in a weather tight enclosure.

Now for my question. What is the correct placement of the Gerry/Jerry Can holder on the left rear running board? I don't think it's centered as shown but more to the rear, but not all they way back against the fender either.

Any help is appreciated.
