You may be one spline off from center or as close as it gets to account for the 1/8 difference.

With the front tires off the ground, grab the top and bottom and pull/push to determine if there is play in the wheel beraings or knuckle that you may need to investigate. If so, take care of it before starting below.

I would back off the drag link plug to the next hole on the SGA to try and determine if the SGA is worn out of round. If turning to the right is better, then I would buy a new SGA.

If it makes no difference, then I would readjust the drag link plug and back off the adjusting screw another 1/8th turn on the steering box and see if it is better turning to the right. If it is, back off until you get a good combination of fairly easy turning and center play when steering straight.

It's a matter of determining which worn parts are causing the problem and allowing for how they have worn from lack of maintenance. This is a happy medium until new parts or rebuilt units can be acquired.

Use a wire or cable tie right under the top sewn lip of the cover. I use cable ties, they are easier and provide a tight seal to keep dirt/water out and grease in.
