With larger tires, you get more difficult steering, especially with a non-power steering truck. I think putting the 11.00x16's on will help your road speed overall and won't diminish your offroad capabilities much. It's much easier to mount a set of larger tires on spare rims, keeping the original 9.00x16's as is, and then you have a lot more flexibility to meet any particular needs.

In my case, I changed the gears from 5.83's to 4.89's but kept the 9.00x16 tires for better steering and better road speed. In my opiniion, one of the weakest systems of the Power Wagons is the steering box.
