I posted on one of the AC forums, and was informed that the WF and WC shared a rim type that is not commmon to any of the other AC line. I had the parts man at the local dealership look up a rim for a WC today, so now I have factory part # to start looking for. I think I know of an OK welder (me), and have located a pair of modern 28" rims in a local scrap yard. The problem is the drop center on the rim that locates it onto the drive wheel is virtually gone on my original rims.(The chloride leaks from insde, and by the time you see rusting on the outside, it is way too late. The rims had been painted silver by the previous owner, and I think that the paint was all that was holding things together in places. I started knocking the rust off, and there are now holes big enough for my hand to fit through.) I have a machine at work that we built for widening/ narrowing ag wheels, so replacing the bead sections would be easy, if there was anything of the original, model-specific drop center to attach them to. The father of the groom at the wedding I'm attending tonight has the only other WF I have seen around here. Maybe he might be in a "negotiable state" by the end of the evening, but he sure hasn't been in one so far. Thanks for the ideas and links. J.V.L.
